Saddle & tack repairs

Ideal for beginners to experienced saddlers

Description:

Tuition will be modified to suit the varying skill level of each student. The choice of leather, fittings & materials and their application in the manufacture and repair of saddles and tack will be discussed.

Students are requested to contact us beforehand to discuss the repairs they would like to learn.

Please bring with you as much tack in need of repair as possible to work on during this course.

Time: Course length 5 days 9am to 5pm

This course covers most of the repairs that you’re likely to undertake on tack.

Repairs that may be carried out include:

  • Repairs to buckle ends
  • Re-stitching stirrup leathers
  • Splicing head collars and bridles
  • Re-covering rubber reins
  • Boot and chap repairs
  • New saddle seats
  • Girth straps
  • re-webbing and foaming the seat
  • New knee pads
  • Stitching
